Claims & getting around
Claim your base before you fill it with stuff. It’s much easier than trying to sort out a mess afterwards.
Make and check a claim
- Get a golden shovel. Use it to select two opposite corners of the area you want to protect.
/claimis another way to start. - Use a stick to inspect land and check who owns it. Check the edges around your storage, farms, and factory.
- Expand your claim as the build grows. A roof or basement outside the protected area is still outside it.
You start with 500 claim blocks. A 20 × 20 plot uses 400; a 10 × 30 plot uses 300. Claim blocks measure the horizontal footprint, not every block of height. The normal accrual rate is 10 per hour, up to 100,000 accrued blocks. Bonus blocks are separate.
Trust only as much as you need
| Command | What you’re giving |
|---|---|
/trust <player> | Building access. Give this carefully. |
/containertrust <player> | Container access without full building permission. |
/accesstrust <player> | Basic access, such as protected interactions. |
/untrust <player> | Remove trust. |
/trustlist | Check existing trust. |
Claims protect containers and creatures, but wooden doors and trapdoors are not locked by the claim settings. Don’t treat a closed door as secure storage. Put valuables in protected containers. Team membership and factory sharing do not replace claim trust.
Getting more claim blocks
You can earn them through playtime and rewards. Direct buying costs $450 per block; direct selling returns $10 per block. That is a big difference, so don’t buy a large amount assuming you can sell it back for the same price. Abandoning land returns its allocated claim blocks; that is different from selling blocks for money.
Use the claim-block command’s balance message to see how many are available. Bonuses and already-used blocks affect what you can transfer.
Giving blocks to another player
- You need at least two hours of playtime. The recipient must have joined RuneHaven before.
- Use
/claimblocks give player amount, or/claimblocks give player all. The minimum is 100 blocks. - Read the recipient and amount, then use
/claimblocks confirmwithin 30 seconds. Use/claimblocks cancelif you change your mind. - After a transfer, wait 24 hours before sending again.
Only transferable blocks can be sent. “All” means the transferable amount, not land already used by your claims.
Keep an eye on unused claims
Small automatic chest claims can expire after seven days, unused claims after 14, and general inactive claims after 45. The general inactivity cleanup has exemptions for owners with at least 10,000 total claim blocks or 5,000 bonus blocks. Don’t rely on an old starter chest claim as permanent protection.
Homes and random teleports
Use /sethome name, /home name, and /delhome name to manage your saved places. Normal homes have a three-second teleport delay. Random teleport has a five-second warmup, and moving cancels it. Its normal cooldown is 250 seconds; eligible Guardian and Champion access can reduce it to 150 or 60 seconds.
Random teleport has no money or hunger charge. It avoids claimed land and searches for a suitable destination. Give it time to find a spot.
Nether and End access
Get We Need to Go Deeper by entering a Nether portal before Nether RTP. Get The End? by entering the End normally before End RTP. Player warps check these same advancements, so another player’s warp is not a shortcut past them.
Regular land claiming is disabled in the Nether, End, and Adventure World. Build your permanent base in main Survival.
Claim flight
Claim flight works in main Survival for players who have access to the perk, inside claims where they have the required access. It can enable as you enter a claim. It does not give you flight across the wilderness, Nether, or End. Watch the action-bar message when crossing a boundary.
