Worlds & datapacks
Exploring here is more than finding another plains biome. The terrain, structures, Nether, End, and big boss fights all have changes worth knowing about.
What each datapack changes
| Datapack | Main change | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|
| Terralith | Overworld terrain and biomes | More varied surface landscapes and cave environments. |
| Structory | Exploration structures | Ruins, camps, towers, boats, and abandoned builds. |
| Trek | Structures across dimensions | More villages, larger discoveries, monster rooms, and extra Nether/End structures. |
| Amethyst Nether | Nether terrain, resources, enemies, and recipes | New environments and reasons to prepare beyond fire resistance. |
| Nullscape | End terrain and biomes | More dramatic islands, Crystal Peaks, Shadowlands, and Void Barrens. |
| True Ending | Ender Dragon fight | New attacks and fight sequences. |
| Wither Ascension | Wither fight and related items | A multi-phase boss with extra attacks and custom rewards. |
Terralith: surface and underground
Terralith changes the shape and variety of the Overworld. Expect a wider range of mountains, forests, valleys, and unusual terrain rather than assuming every biome looks like its vanilla version.
Caves include underground jungle, fungal, thermal, frostfire, deep, infested, and different stone-themed environments. The route through a cave can be the bigger change than the ore you came to mine.
Bring blocks, food, light, and a way back. Mark useful cave entrances and leave room in your inventory for things you haven’t seen before. Custom ItemsAdder ores are a separate system; the item guide explains processing.
Structory and Trek: things to find
Structory adds smaller discoveries such as abandoned camps, ruins, graveyards, boats, chapels, and firetowers. Trek adds a much wider range of builds, including castles, sunken cities, outposts, islands, villages, and themed monster rooms.
Not everything is a safe house or a dungeon entrance. Look around before walking into a large build, and keep an escape route. A generated structure is also different from a player’s build; player property still follows the rules.
Trek also adds Nether discoveries and End city content. Finding one familiar vanilla structure does not mean the next one will have the same layout.
Amethyst Nether
The Nether includes places such as Sulfur Fields, Basalt Flows, Black Peaks, Nether Caves, Wart Heaps, Crimson and Warped Plains, and old-growth fungal forests. These are terrain and biome changes, not just different names on the same landscape.
Resource generation includes extra Nether gold and quartz features, ancient-debris features, deepslate ore features, and quartz, glowstone, and amethyst geodes. Biome and placement rules still matter: not every resource appears everywhere.
The pack adds enemies, loot, advancements, and recipes, including gilded Netherite equipment, a shield, custom foods, and a gas mask. Sulfur and spore effects are part of the Nether content, so read new item descriptions and watch status effects.
Fire resistance helps with lava and fire; it is not protection against every new hazard. Take food, blocks, spare equipment, and a route back to your portal. The first entry still needs to be through a normal Nether portal.
Nullscape and the outer End
Nullscape changes the End’s terrain and adds Crystal Peaks, Shadowlands, and Void Barrens. Islands, height changes, and unusual formations make travel less predictable than a flat stretch of End stone.
Check your landing before throwing a pearl and carry enough blocks to bridge back. The void still ends a trip quickly. Travel light until you know the route. End RTP and player warps only unlock after your first normal entry.
True Ending: the dragon
The Ender Dragon has an expanded fight with fireball sequences, repeated dives, a laser phase, crystal-related transitions, and extra visual warnings. Don’t plan around a normal quick vanilla dragon kill.
Bring ranged and melee options, healing, blocks, and a way to handle being knocked or launched. Keep watching the dragon when its behavior changes. A temporary phase transition does not necessarily mean the fight is broken.
The pack has adjustable health and fight options. This guide does not promise a fixed health total from the datapack’s defaults. Follow what the active encounter shows.
Wither Ascension
The Wither has multiple phases and more attacks as the fight progresses. The move set includes charges, slams, soul beams, chains, minions, corrupted ground, and a black-hole attack. Keep moving, watch the telegraphed effects, and leave yourself room to react.
Do not summon one beside a base or factory. Parts of the fight can damage terrain, and treating it as a safe vanilla farm is a bad idea. Prepare a suitable area and a backup kit first.
The pack includes a Withered Core and a Wither-Bane Blade crafting path. A Core and a Netherite Sword dropped together create the blade. Use a spare sword: the recipe makes a new weapon rather than promising to keep your old sword’s custom work.
The blade’s lore describes a right-click throw and a Soul-Anchor effect against the Wither. Read the item before using it. There are also boss rewards and discoveries beyond ordinary Nether Star farming; some are best found in the fight.
Why an old area can look different
Terrain and structures are created when chunks generate. Adding or updating a terrain pack does not automatically rebuild every place that players have already explored. Older areas can look different from new terrain.
These packs do not establish a server reset schedule. Watch announcements for resets or world changes rather than assuming the Nether, End, or Adventure World refreshes on a fixed day.
Before you leave
- Save a home and leave irreplaceable items behind.
- Bring blocks, food, and dimension-appropriate supplies.
- Keep the server resource pack enabled for custom items.
- Check claims before building in main Survival.
- Report broken structures or impossible terrain privately with the world, coordinates, and a screenshot.
