Mining: Zeta, artifacts & Vessels

Don’t sell every strange thing that drops while mining. Some of it is quick cash. Some of it is the start of a much better pickaxe.

Start with natural ores

Open /mine. This is PyroMining, a separate system from the Miner job and the Mining skill in /skills. You can work on all three during the same trip, but their levels and rewards are separate.

  1. Join Miner through /jobs if you want job pay alongside your mining progress.
  2. Mine natural ores in a survival area. Keep a few inventory slots free for special drops.
  3. Check /mine stats for your mining level and /mine zeta for Zeta.
  4. Use /mine journal to identify unfamiliar finds. Sell Fluxes, then decide which artifacts and gemstones to keep.

Mining progression is disabled in dungeon and event/lobby areas. A factory producing resources is not the same as you breaking a qualifying ore.

Ore XP and Zeta

Zeta pays for mining progression. It is not cash, Souls, or fishing Entropy. These are base rewards for eligible ores before bonuses. Equivalent deepslate ores use the matching ore entry.

OreMining XPZeta
Coal Ore1524
Redstone Ore3556
Lapis Ore50104
Diamond Ore150280
Emerald Ore200320
Nether Quartz Ore1524
Iron Ore2532
Gold Ore4072

The XP requirement for each next mining level grows by 12%. A level in /skills will not satisfy an Oracle requirement from /mine stats.

Fluxes: the straightforward sale

Basic Flux has a 3% base roll from coal, lapis, diamond, redstone, and emerald ores. Blazed Flux has a 3% base roll from Nether quartz ore. Iron and gold are not on these Flux drop lists.

Sell Basic Flux for $300 and Blazed Flux for $225 through /mine shop. The mining journal gives Flux no other current use. These are chances, so a dry streak does not mean your next ore owes you a drop.

Gemstones: sell now or examine?

You can sell a gemstone at its base value or right-click it to reveal its quality. Examining is a gamble: a damaged result is worth less, while a good result is worth more.

TierOreBase priceBase drop chance
1Coal Ore$3001.25%
2Redstone Ore$4501%
3Nether Quartz Ore$6000.8%
4Lapis Ore$9000.6%
5Emerald Ore$1,2000.4%
6Diamond Ore$1,6000.25%
QualityValue after examination
Ruined70% of base value
Badly Damaged80% of base value
Damaged90% of base value
Worn120% of base value
Pristine150% of base value

For example, a Tier 6 gemstone is worth $1,600 before examination. Ruined makes it $1,120; Pristine makes it $2,400. These gemstones are separate from the colored Adventure gems used for sword recipes.

Use the right sell button

/mine shop has two different actions. Sell Market Contents sells eligible items you placed in the market. Sell Player Inventory also looks through what you are carrying.

Put progression items away before using an inventory-wide sale. If you only want to sell Flux, place just that Flux in the market and use the market-contents button.

Artifacts: cash now or parts later?

The base artifact drop chance is 0.45% per eligible ore. Right-click an unidentified artifact, then place it into an available slot in /mine artifacts. Collect the result once identification finishes.

Identification can produce useful progression items, including fossils and Requiums. It does not guarantee the exact part you are missing. You can sell an artifact instead if you need the cash.

Artifact tierBase identification timeSale price
Basic20 minutes$250
Unusual40 minutes$400
Epic60 minutes$700
Exceptional90 minutes$1,200
Legendary120 minutes$1,800
Fabled160 minutes$2,500
Mythic200 minutes$3,200
Celestial240 minutes$4,200
Divine280 minutes$5,500

The artifact menu has processing upgrades. These times are the starting values before those upgrades. A Divine artifact takes four hours and 40 minutes at its base time, so plan around the timer rather than expecting an instant result.

Fossils and the eight-piece set

An unidentified fossil goes into an empty identification slot in /mine artifacts. Its base identification time is 60 minutes. The result is a part of a Vessel.

  1. Choose a Vessel in /mine journal and check the parts it needs.
  2. Collect all eight parts of that same Vessel. Eight unrelated pieces are not a complete set.
  3. Use the journal’s Forge layout. Drop the complete set into its center and hit the Forge to craft. The Refinery also supports crafting a complete set.

Keep parts sorted by Vessel. Trading duplicates with someone working on a different set can be more useful than selling everything.

Mysterious Dust and the Refinery

Mysterious Dust has a 0.65% base drop chance from eligible mining. Build a Refinery with a dropper facing upwards and a fence on top, then put the dust inside to process it.

Its outputs include Rune Dust, Uncharged Oracleite, Ancient Relics, and Shattered Orbs. Rune Dust leads to Guardian fights; Oracleite leads to later Oracle encounters. This Refinery is part of mining, not a Minetorio oil-processing machine.

Applying and improving a Vessel

Vessels give pickaxes special abilities, but crafting one is only the start. A Vessel encounter must be defeated with three Requiums in the correct order before its effect is applied. Open /mine vessels with the pickaxe you are working on.

  1. Get Requiums from artifact rewards and arrange the three encounter slots.
  2. Mine with your active Vessel progression. Thralls can appear from qualifying blocks; defeating them builds anger and clue progress.
  3. Use the slot clues and the previous-attempt display to adjust the order. A clue reaching 100% reveals the Requium for that slot.
  4. Defeat the Vessel encounter using the correct order. Bring actual combat gear; this is more than a menu purchase.

Thralls have a minimum two-minute interval between appearances. More Vessels on the pickaxe make later encounters stronger. To level an existing Vessel, add another of the same type and finish its encounter; its quirk does not have to match.

Rune Guardians and Singularity

Use Rune Dust on redstone ore to open the Guardian summon interface. The summon cooldown is 45 seconds. A Guardian has 200 health and can drop the runes used for Singularity progression.

Open /mine singularity. Raising Singularity requires the runes shown by its menu and gives points to spend on mining bonuses. Options include more Zeta, cheaper upgrades, Requium progress, and improved Rune drops. Check the next cost before spending; the requirements grow as you level it.

A summoned Guardian is a fight. Clear space, equip armor, and keep your spare parts and valuables at home before starting it.

Charging Oracleite and fighting Oracles

  1. Find Uncharged Oracleite by refining Mysterious Dust.
  2. Keep one Uncharged Oracleite in your offhand and mine 35 diamond ores to charge it.
  3. Use Charged Oracleite on emerald ore to begin summoning.
  4. Prepare for phase progression. The minimum PyroMining levels are 40, 45, and 50 for phases one, two, and three.

Oracle summons have a one-hour cooldown. Check /mine stats, not your Miner job level, before preparing a summon. These are late-game encounters; bring strong gear, healing, and room to move.

A sensible mining route

  1. Early on: take the Miner job, learn the mining menu, sell Flux, and keep artifacts you can afford to identify.
  2. Next: identify fossils, sort Vessel parts, and start processing dust. Keep Requiums even if you do not need them yet.
  3. Once equipped for fights: work through a Vessel encounter and Rune Guardians. Spend upgrades on the part of progression you are actually using.
  4. Later: finish stronger pickaxe builds and work towards the Oracle level gates.

You don’t have to do every branch at once. If cash is the immediate problem, sell some finds. If a better pickaxe is the goal, keep the parts and accept that it takes longer.
