Skills, stats & mana

Your normal survival actions build skill progress. You don’t have to turn every session into a level grind.

Skills are separate from Jobs

Jobs are the paid roles you choose. Skills level from supported actions and unlock stat improvements and abilities. Your fishing level in /fish is another progression system again. A level requirement in one menu does not use the number from another.

Open /skills to see your progress. The active skills start at level 0 and cap at 100. Dying does not reset these skill levels or their XP.

The active skills

SkillWhat to focus on
FarmingCrops and farming actions
ForagingTrees and woodcutting
MiningMining blocks and ores
FishingFishing actions
ExcavationDigging terrain
ArcheryBow combat
DefenseTaking qualifying damage
FightingMelee combat
AgilityMovement and supported agility actions
AlchemyPotion-related actions
EnchantingEnchanting and supported gear work

Passive bonuses and active abilities

Passive abilities improve parts of normal play. Mana abilities are the active skills attached to certain paths, such as Replenish for Farming, Treecapitator for Foraging, Speed Mine for Mining, and Terraform for Excavation.

Read the ability panel for its unlock level, activation, mana cost, and cooldown. Mana is enabled, so an unlocked ability still needs enough mana to use. The action bar shows useful progress and ability feedback.

When progress seems slow

Use the actual skill activity in a survival area. Spawn and event lobbies do not grant normal skill progression. Repeating placed blocks is not the same as mining naturally generated resources. Fighting and Archery use a 10% XP multiplier for spawner mobs.

Skills do not pay a second built-in job income here. The separate Jobs system handles that. Pick a matching job if you want to earn cash while working on a skill.

How to activate each mana ability

Unlocking an ability does not mean it stays active all the time. Most tool abilities need you to ready the tool first, then perform the action. Check mana and cooldown before clicking repeatedly.

Ability / skillUnlock levelStarting costStarting cooldownActivation and effect
Replenish
Farming
1030 mana600 secondsRight-click a hoe, then break a crop. Replants crops during the active window.
Treecapitator
Foraging
1020 mana600 secondsRight-click an axe, then break a log. Fells connected tree blocks within its limits.
Speed Mine
Mining
1030 mana600 secondsRight-click a pickaxe, then mine a block. Grants Haste V during the active window.
Sharp Hook
Fishing
65 mana2 secondsLeft-click with a rod while an entity is hooked to damage it.
Terraform
Excavation
1030 mana600 secondsRight-click a shovel, then dig. Breaks connected blocks, with a 16-block maximum setting.
Charged Shot
Archery
610 mana0 secondsLeft-click a bow to toggle. Charged shots spend mana for extra damage.
Absorption
Defense
610 mana200 secondsLeft-click a shield, then take damage. Damage drains mana instead of health while active; mana regeneration pauses.
Lightning Blade
Fighting
620 mana200 secondsRight-click a sword, then attack. Temporarily increases attack speed.

Replenish, Treecapitator, Speed Mine, and Terraform improve every 10 skill levels and keep their 10-minute cooldown. Their mana costs rise as they improve. The other listed abilities improve every six skill levels; their costs and, where configured, cooldowns change too.

For example, Replenish starts at 30 mana and adds 15 per ability level. At Farming 20, its next ability level costs 45 mana. This is why having enough mana for an earlier level does not guarantee enough for the upgraded one.

Why tree cutting or digging stops

Treecapitator has a block limit and respects tool durability. It is not a promise to remove an enormous custom tree in one click. Its extra tree breaks are configured not to grant ability-generated XP. Terraform also has a 16-block cap setting.

Keep a usable tool, allow the cooldown to finish, and stay within your claim permissions. If you are trying to cut a huge tree, split it into manageable sections instead of assuming the ability is broken.

What the stats actually help with

StatWhat it affects
StrengthAttack damage. Some passive abilities grant extra Strength only while holding the matching tool or weapon.
HealthMaximum health. The heart display is scaled, so a visible heart does not always represent the same raw health as vanilla.
RegenerationSaturation, hunger, and mana recovery.
LuckThe separate gathering-luck traits for farming, foraging, mining, fishing, and excavation.
WisdomMinecraft XP bonuses, anvil discount, and maximum mana. Base mana capacity is 20; each Wisdom point adds 2.
ToughnessDamage reduction. It uses diminishing returns rather than becoming full immunity at a simple threshold.

The stat screen is the place to check your current total. Conditional bonuses can depend on what you are holding or which effects are active.
